Cash record as well

Dear folks,
I was bound to M$ for years due to work systems , and work-at-home after getting home, (the normal British disease to work in excess of 70 hours per week). I used some Linux distributions (Red Hat 5 etc) trying to dual boot some time ago, but ended up corrupting my only computer. I then found live distributions with a magazine article on Knoppix 3.2, and found two solutions in one. I could experiment with Linux and I could use the Knoppix disc while abroad with my own settings.As an export sales engineer that was most useful in places, such as in Russia, China or Japan, when the local 'computer police' let me boot a system in an internet cafe. However, for good use I also needed an accounting program as well as usual web browsing and e-mail and office applications

KANOTIX gave me this on the live CD distribution. Thanks.

As I am now retired from work, and help a local charity, I will use the KANOTIX for charity puposes, as a cash book (GnuCash) for them without the cost of software, which to charities is a major problem.


It works well, although it does not yet do multi-media on my setup at home , (probably my Linux knowledge).

From this beginner may I thank "kano" and all who helped create KANOTIX including K. Knopper for Knoppix and the folks who answer in the forums.
