Specification:

Kernel 2.6.10 with some patches

First 64 bit edition

Based on Debian Sid for AMD64

Differences to 32 Bit Edition:

Pure 64 bit system (except for OpenOffice)

Without 32 bit chroot only very limited compatibility with old 32 bit applications

Less drivers, important scripts for NVIDIA and ATI drivers are of course included

Different packagelist with Xfce 4.2.0 (desktop=xfce4)

Vsync is per default always 75 Hz, please use vsync=60/85/100 as cheatcode

NVIDIA Script installs 32 bit libs from the 32 bit driver package now additionally

Specification:

udev 0.079-1 and new hardware recognition (hwsetup-ng) - no kudzu based recognition anymore. Disadvantage: ISA PnP is not recognized anymore. For not recognized soundcards do: alsaconf

new graphical installer with updatefunction

sysv-freeze - avoids the activation of services with dist-upgrade. To activate a service, use: unfreeze-rc.d; rcconf; freeze-rc.d or unfreeze-rc.d; update-rc.d; freeze-rc.d

New: Kanotix Controllcenter - knxcc. It can be found in K-Controll under Kanotix or start it in textmode on a Konsole.

You can now from Live-CD test Nvidia drivers without an internet connection.They are included as an archive and can be installed easily.

known bug:
Icons will only appear on the desktop only after devices have been mounted. You can access the devices directly through konqueror media:/.
